Andreea Samoilă (1996,RO) is a visual artist, and an independent editor & art director of printed matter. She is interested in objects, words and tools after they depart from the "manual" version of themselves.

She makes objects, books and actions focussing on witty uses of objects, unexpected associations and word-play. Andreea works under the name Imminent Detour, giving a nod to memory palaces, imaginary spaces and times in which to anchor new information.

A 1:1 Lecture Performance


A 1:1 lecture performance done together with the lovely @nocturne_lights, where surfaces became a space for play 💛💜

We invited people during @romaniandesignweek to wander, pan, and zoom in/out over surfaces and thoughts. We gave a lecture-performance about the architectural and artistic investigations of @easaromania, starting from the 1:1 scale, but very quickly reaching themes of public space, temporary interventions, and life in general. The purpose of the event was to surprise with already known things, bringing a new perspective on how we understand maps, reality/representation, and the use of public spaces. The RDW RE-Connect theme offered a suitable platform to describe the connections between people and the urban fabric, questioning how can they develop further.

At the end of the presentation we giftted the participants a measuring method (immaterial) and a centimeter (material).
