Almost Famous
When we sit on chairs we don't see them. We sit with our literal back at them, not paying attention to how well they do their job of holding our weight. The chair often plays a supporting role (pun intended) to dinner tables, comedy sets, and photoshoots. Of course there are exceptions, but in general the chair is in perpetuity Almost Famous. The usually out-of-sight or background character gets the full attention, becoming the subject of photography in flashy colours and shadows.
" Have a secret, we’ll be right with you. Plant yourself in this placelesness and think of what you want to tell us when we call you to the doorway. Don’t worry, the lemons won’t fall into the colourful acclaim without you, but make sure to keep an eye out for the umbras and penumbras of colours that tend to lurk around the backrest. "
The story was made using the concept from Oulipo of applying N+7 to some of the words of the original writing.
