Brief Conversation with Kandinsky, but Not Quite

The image below is my micro-conversation with a neural network trained on paintings by Kandinsky.

You can “read” below what the reply to this image was, and then you can keep reading into it, because this essay doesn't have many words. I took the liberty to turn my thoughts into captions, while leaving my conversation partner to express solely with …well… I’m not sure with what they(?) think and reply.

I shot this on my film camera two summers ago. It was inspired by another photographer I saw take pictures of daisies from below. His was better because the crowns of the flowers looked like they were drinking the clouds, but I don’t think mine’s too shabby either. You know, I’m a big fan of your theory of liberating colour from form, but I tried recently to have an exercise and paint relating to this but it got me nowhere. I was wondering…what do you think of this image? It already has some loose colour because of the over exposed film, don’t you think?

Previously to this possibility of feeding an image and waiting for something to be spat out back at me, my hopes were pretty slim of painting myself strokes of colour liberated from form. It sounds so nice in words, it is almost better if you don't try to achieve it. The sad truth is that I didn’t even give enough time to think, or try to see how to make drawings as Kandinsky would inspire me to liberate colour. I just got to see this.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I don't have any of the knowledge or hand-practice to paint, code or think of anything close to this. This title was a misleading text, to you and myself. It is not a conversation.

It is a resource I wish to visit only very very rarely? Like an interesting friend you meet only every few years, briefly and intensely. Dangerous for my personal wishes, but oh so wonderous to have lived to see this.
